“Are you fighting with Paul Tan in terms of being an auto news portal?”

This question was asked by a dear Malaysian friend of mine, and he isn’t the only one to ask me about it. My answer? Oh, boy, it’s gonna be a long one. Get ready.

Paul has been blogging in the auto scene in malaysia for a while. I respect him as an automotive guru and being VERY updated in terms of auto news. However, I have to explain that in my heart, I envision myself as Paul’s partner instead of rival. How so?

Paul’s blog, http:/paultan.org/, is all about cars. Different types of cars. *drool* You have Proton, Mitsubishi, BMW, blah blah blah etc. He even covers engine types, gear transmissions etc etc.

Paul, you beat me to the new lancer, i was going to cover it in my blog! *grrrr*

BUT my focus isn’t 100% auto news. Yes, I do cover automotive news here and there. And i practice discernment. I’m not going to cover vehicles below 2.0 SOHC. Sorry, only milk & juice comes in packages below 2 litres. I cover vehicles 2.0 SOHC and above, as well as tuning news & tips.

Tuning stuff, for the people who think a car is for point A-B, is like taking vitamin supplements for your muscles or to make your organs larger. *blush* Tuning includes changing air filter, lowering suspension, muffler operation, etc etc etc.

I love to do unorthodox stuff like going to local garages and tuning shops to see how they cut mufflers, participate in motorshows (even though i get paid peanuts), ending up in car club meetings etc etc. Even if my news post is not about the latest skyline GTR so be it. I’m a tuner, and if i do get scoops on a new GTR, great! If not no big hoo hah.

Anyway folks don’t worry. My tuning news is not drying up and i’ve got my means and ways to satiate the petrolhead’s desire for news & tips.

I would appreciate if you guys would leave comments on my blog though. And for those who think i’m trying to make a fast buck off others because of the ads on my page, let me assure you that if you don’t click on my ads, i will still survive.

Yes, i may not be earning much being in the auto industry (I’m not a high flying salesman) but money isn’t everything. Having fun in life is.

If i wanted to make a fast buck off my visitors and regulars, this site would be about internet marketing or something like that.

Alright back to my work. In my country, most people slog like mad for less than $4,000 a month and an apartment costs $200,000 over, a China made car costs $40,000.
