Dear Petrolheads:

As an Automotive tuning guy i must know my stuff, right? Well over the weekend, I will be heading down to a garage in Singapore to take pics of a controverisal modification (well, controversial in Singapore because the People’s Republic of Singapore officials ban almost everything).

This modification amongst the locals is known as ’Operation muffler’ and it involves cutting the vehicle’s muffler system open, removing the piping stuff inside, then welding the muffler back again, and yes, only in this little island, you could say it’s illegal. I don’t see how this can harm the nation’s economic or social stability, however, so to me it’s no big deal.

I have done this modification on my VW Caddy Turbo before (Gasp! Philip Chan, you law breaker!) And i find it alright, bhp increased a tad bit somewhat, fuel consumption went up, but what the hell, the growling exhaust noise is sexy.

Alright, once i manage to convince the garage boss (identity masked) to let me take a couple of shots, i’ll be up and posting on this risky procedure.
